Out of Libya is a documentary featuring the testimonies of three refugees who were imprisoned in Libya, while trying to reach North Africa or Europe. Doctors Without Borders needed title and chapter cards, as well as animated maps and sequences.
The narrators hesitantly and emotionally tell us their respective stories while trying to recollect their memories. I aimed to further explore the relationship between the time passing by and the memories fading away by translating it visually: illustrations play with textures, transparencies and blurring, while the transitions use morphings and overlays.
Faced with the harshness of the words, the images are sensitive and intimate, inspired by reality and metaphors.
